Credits measure the audio and text model usage of your sessions, rather than a fixed number of minutes. 1,000 credits represent $1 of model usage at the rates used in the app. Your balance is visible in the app. A session reserves credits and refunds any unused reservation when it ends.

Do I need an API key?
No. LingoVela connects to the translation service for you. Subscribe, choose two languages, and start a conversation.
Does it work offline?
Available modes depend on your installed app version, device and languages. On-device translation can use compatible downloaded models without internet; microphone translation also needs supported offline speech recognition. Initial downloads and subscription activation need internet. On-device mode requires an active subscription but uses no AI credits. OpenAI Online and Private Cloud Compute require internet and AI credits; Private Cloud Compute also depends on Apple usage quota. Saved conversations remain on your device.
How many minutes do 2,000 credits cover?
There is no fixed minute allowance. Usage depends on speech, translated audio, text, and the model rates. Check your balance in the app.
Can I rely on every translation?
Translations can be inaccurate or delayed. Verify important details, especially names, numbers, and anything with medical or legal consequences.
Where does the audio go?
In OpenAI online mode, voice and translation requests go to OpenAI. In on-device mode, translation and supported speech recognition run on your device. Private Cloud Compute sends text, including locally transcribed speech, to Apple after separate consent. Raw audio and images are not uploaded to Apple in that mode. There is no sign-in; an anonymous device account holds your subscription and credits. Availability depends on the installed app version and device.

LingoVela is independently published by Arte Soft EOOD. OpenAI and Apple provide underlying technologies; neither publishes or endorses LingoVela.
